BIOSKETCH
Dr. Nqobile Jaca Phakathi is a veterinarian and research professional with a background in veterinary sciences and business management. She holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology from the University of Pretoria, along with a Higher Certificate in Business Management from Regent Business School and completed a Laboratory Animal Science Course at the University of Cape Town.Since 2019, Dr. Phakathi has been the Research Unit Manager and Veterinarian at the Biomedical Research Division of UKZN, overseeing laboratory animal research, managing business operations, and ensuring the health of animals. She also conducts workshops and training. Prior to this, she worked as a Poultry Veterinarian and Product Manager at CEVA Animal Health (2016-2019) and as a State Veterinarian at the Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture (2015-2016), where she focused on disease control and clinical services.Dr. Phakathi is registered with the South African Veterinary Council.
